This is a store with a beer stand inside Shin-Kiryu Station on the Tobu Railway Kiryu Line. We were asked to design a store that would serve as a new base for regional revitalization as the gateway to Kiryu, and that would accommodate the changing needs of customers at different times of the day. n addition to space for selling specialty products and local beer, the counter can be expanded with movable shelves to allow for the sale of boxed lunches at lunchtime. We asked a dyeing artisan to dye the countertop, and designed the corrugated shelves made of a material used for the exterior walls of saw-tooth roof factories. The design incorporates the culture of Kiryu, a city that prospered through its textile industry.
