大阪府豊中市にある住宅。
傾斜地で、北側接道の建物が段々と立ち並び、南側には阪急電車と伊丹空港に発着する飛行機が見渡せる。解体前の既存建物の2階から眺望を確認し、2階にメインの生活の場をつくり、1階には寝室、クローゼット、趣味室を設ける計画とした。敷地の東西には隣接した建物が並んでいるため、南北に風と光が抜けるよう配置している。

2つのコア（木で覆われた閉じた空間）と、ヴォイド（抜けのある空間）を立体的に互い違いに配置することによって、空気と光の抜けを作り出した。人が寛ぐ空間は木、外とのつながりを感じる空間は土間を使用することで緩急をつけた。ご家族の趣味がアウトドアであることや、ご主人は自転車競技もしていることから、コアとヴォイドの間を縫うように道路から連続する土間の道をつくり、2階の生活の場へも外の雰囲気が感じ取れる構成とした。それぞれの居場所で好きなことをしていても、それらを繋げる道の空間があることでお互いを感じながら生活することができる。

クライアントからは、眺望を眺めながら生活すること、家事動線の機能性や趣味部屋の実用性を兼ね備えた明るく風通しの良い住宅であることが希望された。ここで営まれる家族の健やかな暮らしと外との関わり合いを意識して、時間をかけてクライアントと共に作りあげた住まいである。

 

Located on a sloped site in Toyonaka, Osaka, this new residence offers expansive southern views of the Hankyu railway and flight paths from Itami Airport. Drawing from vistas confirmed from the site’s former building prior to its demolition, the plan situates the primary living areas on the upper level, while the ground floor houses the bedrooms and a dedicated hobby room.

To ensure natural light and cross-ventilation on a site flanked by neighbors, the design utilizes a three-dimensional, staggered arrangement of two “cores” (enclosed wooden volumes) and “voids” (open spaces). Materiality creates a rhythmic distinction between zones: wood defines intimate living areas, while doma (earthen floors) mark spaces connected to the exterior.

Reflecting the family’s passion for cycling and the outdoors, a doma path extends from the street, weaving through the cores and voids up to the second floor. This internal street serves as a spatial connector, allowing family members to remain connected to one another while pursuing individual activities. The result is a bright, airy home that balances panoramic views with functional domestic flow and a practical hobby space, fulfilling the client’s specific vision through close collaboration.
