The project is a small structure designed as a reception and workspace for SOTOIRO, a landscaping design company, within a housing exhibition site in Takasaki City. By keeping the building area under 10 m², the project also envisions the possibility of selling the hut itself as a standalone product.
The use of standard-sized, off-the-shelf window frames helps reduce construction costs. A four-panel sliding glass door connects the interior directly to the exterior deck, creating a sense of spaciousness and extending the perceived living area beyond the hut.
To create an iconic form characteristic of a small hut, the building features a steeply pitched gable roof. One entire gable wall is composed of a fixed glass window, allowing natural light to penetrate the loft and eliminating the sense of enclosure, while creating a visual openness and depth within the compact interior.
