This is the flagship store for “HATAGO,” a fragrance brand that expresses Japan’s regional cultures through scent.A large opening was designed along Yuigahama-dori in Kamakura City to allow a clear view into the store, with the floor plan skewed diagonally to follow the building’s exterior shape. Inorganic materials such as tiles, mortar, and silver-painted finishes are arranged with equal weight, creating a highly abstract spatial composition.
Juxtaposed against these elements, an organic wooden fixture acts as a stage to highlight the “scented landscapes” interpreted by a Parisian perfumer.
