群馬県桐生市のパーソナルジムである。角地で道路に面した大開口を持つテナントの特性を生かしつつ利用者のプライバシーを確保するために、大きなシアーカーテンによって空間を作る計画とした。天井から床まであるカーテンによって内外の視線を緩く遮り、使い方に応じて視線を遮りながら空間を仕切っている。また、壁を覆うカーテンは自然光を拡散し、無機質な空間に柔らかさを与える仕上げとしても機能している。カーテンという一つの装置によって、ジムの新たな佇まいを模索した。

This is a private gym in Kiryu, Gunma. In order to ensure the privacy of users while taking advantage of the tenant’s large opening facing the street on a corner lot, we planned to use large sheer curtains. The curtains, which run from the ceiling to the floor, block the line of sight both form the inside and outside, and can also partition the space depending on its use. The curtains covering the walls diffuse natural light and also function as a finishing material that soften the inorganic space. Through the curtains, we sought a new design for the gym.
